Promotional Material, Event Invite Package: Economic Policy Institute

Faced with a printing price beyond the budget for three separate pieces, I modified some of the specifications for the invitation and the agenda so that they could be printed on the same sheet of paper, eliminating one of the three separate printing jobs. This resulted in a savings of almost 30% of the original printing bid.

Items shown: A self-mailing invitation with perforated registration card, an agenda and an adhesive mailing label. All pieces printed with two spot pms colors.

"Gang up" your pieces.
Since a high percentage of a printing cost is for the printer to convert the design into printing plates and for the setup and cleanup of the presses, it is always best to go to print as few times as possible. Print several pieces that have the same colors, and aprroximately the same quantity on the same sheet of paper, then trim them apart. This is called "Ganging-up."
